How to Use Herbal Oils for Self Care
Usha Anandi. 12 | June | 2023
Perhaps it’s my four signs in Leo, or my years as an overworked, sleep deprived birth worker — but I take my self-care seriously.
As a full-time mama and a full-time business owner, I also look for practices that can help me rejuvenate and shift my nervous system… without using up half my day.
Enter medicinal herbs.
Most people think of teas, infusions, or tinctures when they think of bringing medicinal herbs into their daily practice.
The aforementioned are all amazing options — but we can go even deeper.
And in our Wise Womben Circle Membership, that’s what exactly what we’re doing.
The goal? For you to build lifelong skills to keep yourself out of the western medical system as much as possible and deeply aligned with the gifts of mother nature.
If you’re ready to connect with your inner witch, attune to plant spirits, and learn how to bring herbs into your everyday life for increased radiance, nourishment, and vitality…. Then join the waitlist below.
Whatever you’re going through, herbs can help.
And below is my all-time (that’s a BIG deal!) way to self-care herbalist style.
It’s called herbal oil.
And if you haven’t heard of it yet, mourn the moments of your precious life that you’ve already lost without this amazing medicine by your side.
Nothing nourishes me and grounds me like slathering my body in herbal oil.
A few years ago, I spent 3 months devoting myself to making the most potent herbal oils I could. I ruined many sheets and clothes during that exploration, but it was well worth it.
This is why I’m so darn excited for you to join the Wise Womben Circle.
Because I’m going to teach you how to make your own handcrafted herbal oil.
You. Me. Other witches from all over the world.
Stirring our handcrafted herbal body oil in our kitchen…. Giving ourselves the rest, relaxation, and life-giving self care that we damn well deserve.
All the oily sheets are worth it (but in case you want to save yours, I’ll teach you how to do that, too). Enrollment isn’t open just yet, but you can save your spot by joining our waitlist.
In those three months of herbal witchcraft where I dreamed and wrote about nothing but herbal oils, something strange happened.
I got pregnant.
Coincidence? After reading the benefits below, you’ll understand why it’s not.
Here are three reasons why I LOVE herbal oils:
It’s one of the safest ways to deliver the medicine of herbs to your body (children, pregnant mamas and people, and elderly folk come hither – this medicine is great for you!). I have various jars of different kinds of oils placed strategically around my house for everyone in my family to use.
Now let me be clear that handcrafting your own herbal oil is very, very different than simply diluting a few drops of essential oil in a carrier oil.
When making your own herbal oil, you’re utilizing the entire body of the plant, not just the volatile oils.
In most cases, the plant matter is sitting for a good length of time without heat or any adulterating processes.
In short, you’re getting so much more medicine in handcrafted herbal oils.
And when you put it on, you feel it.
My Dad struggles with falling asleep and staying asleep.
The first time he tried lavender oil (read the benefits below), he slept through the night and woke up feeling refreshed for the first time in months.
There are dozens and dozens of herbal oils you can create yourself at home, each with their own benefits and creation processes depending on the plant you choose.

Here are two of my all-time favorites:
Rose Oil
For the time when I need to be deeply held and remember that I am allowed to relax. Incredible skin healer, heart healer, and heart and womb connector.
Lavender Oil
Never have I experienced a bliss like being covered from head to toe in handcrafted lavender oil made from fresh flowers from my garden.
Opening up the bottle of freshly made lavender oil is akin to ten orgasms… I’m serious. Deeply relaxing, nourishing, great for those with insomnia like my Dad, and a sanctuary from a busy world.
Everything I share on this page only scratched the surface. I want YOU to experience what it’s like to make your own oil and feel the glorious benefits for yourself.
Enrollment isn’t open yet, but if you join the waitlist, you’ll be one of the first to gain access to our exploration of herbal oils inside Wise Womben Circle.
